I’m a qualified FR > EN translator, native English speaker, born in the UK and completed my education in Switzerland, where I studied and worked for 10 years. I used French, English, German on a daily basis for five years, and then added Italian and Spanish to the mix. I then spent a further 14 years in China, where I learnt conversational Mandarin and continued to use French, English and Italian.

Having returned to the UK in 2013, I retrained as a translator, obtaining the Diploma in Translation in the French > English language pair, with semi-specialised options in law and literature. I am a volunteer with Translators Without Borders, and have translated over 75,000 pro bono for Unicef, Plan International, Action contre la Faim, Asmae etc. I have recently joined the TED Open Translation Project and continue my professional development with the Chartered Institute of Linguists (member no. 49541) and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. I currently work with agencies in a variety of countries.
I have worked in the insurance and packaging/processing industries and have additional experience in marketing and working with charities.
